Our clients’ request was for a large house on their pristine 4,500-acre hunting plantation in the Red Hills region of South Georgia to serve as an anchor and icon for the property, and a backdrop for entertaining. Our response was a house fitting of such impressive property, accessed via an unassuming, wooded drive, with expansive grandeur complemented by moments of quiet intimacy. Avoiding the temptation to adhere strictly to any singular architectural style, we called upon the broad spectrum of the Southern architectural heritage to create a house that echoes with the notes of familiar, beloved details, arranged in a fresh, imaginative composition.
